1909. First edition. vi, 170pp. James McKie (sometimes written "M'Kie") was a Kilmarnock-based publisher and collector of Burns material who lived during the 19th century. He gathered a large collection of manuscripts, books, paintings and Burnsiana and was the main fundraiser for the Kilmarnock Burns Monument in Kay Park. His collection was displayed in the museum in the monument. It is now housed by East Ayrshire Council Arts and Museums Service. This is a catalogue of the collection, compiled by David Sneddon. The book is bound in the original grey card covers with black titling on the front cover and an illustration of the Burns Monument, Kilmarnock, on the rear cover. The book is in very good condition with some expected shelf wear and light soiling on the covers. The corners of the covers are slightly curled with some light creases and wear with a very small bit of loss at the spine ends. There is a thin split on the bottom 3/4" of the front spine edge and an olde price of 3/- has been written near the top spine corner of the front cover. The contents are secure and clean apart from a few small marks and slight curling to the corners of the first and last few pages. There is a little foxing on the fore edge of the text block and on a few pages this has seeped a little way into the fore margin. There is no inscription. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers gScotPoetRB08
