After headlining in DC's Showcase comics, the four Challengers of the Unknown finally got their own publication in 1958. This is the first issue, and rates VG/F (5.0) based on the grading standards in the 51st Edition of Overstreet (2021-2022), pp 212-215. Cover by the legendary Jack Kirby. Minimal edgewear, no stamps, no writing, no spine split, no staple discoloration. There is a small loss of material on the cover near the top of the spine, affecting part of the DC medallion (see photo), and a second smaller area farther down. Slight soiling in the yellow area at bottom right. The spine has a slight roll. The issue comes in an archival Mylar sleeve with archival backing board. A scarce item.
