Most of the diseases it records are external diseases, such as infection, trauma, frostbite, insect bites, anal fistula, tumours, and skin diseases such as abscesses and warts, etc. Treatments recorded in the document are also varied from oral administration to various external treatments such as fumigation or steaming, ironing, acupuncture, moxibustion, Chinese massage, cupping, etc. The principle of Pattern Identification and Treatment had been roughly applied for treating Ju or Deep -Rooted Ulcers, where the prescription was tailored for different patterns. For example, ,"Ju is treated with seven medicinal substances: Radix Ampelopsis, Radix Astragali, Peony, Cinnamon, Ginger, Pepper, and Dogwood. Double Radix Ampelopsis for Bone Ju, double Radix Astragali for Flesh Ju, double Peony for Kidney Ju, and each dosage for each of the other six. Then put a pinch [of the prescription] into a cup of wine, and then drink it five to six times a day." That is to say, Deep-Rooted Ulcers were generally treated with the seven medicinals, but patterns had to be identified first, and then dosages differed according to different patterns and symptoms. Such records have shown the high level of expertise of Chinese External Medicine in the past centuries." Lan Fengli. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 53310
