A rough copy of this rare 19th-century children's book, illustrated with fairly unique chromolithograph cat illustrations. Orignial red pictorial wraps (heavy wear to covers and text, with tears and chipping, some stains; binding has been side-stitched and later reinforced with three brass brads). THIS COPY HAS TWO REMARKABLE INSCRIPTIONS BY PRIOR OWNER, relating his two experiences during solar eclipses in 1869 and 1885. Notes: Cover title. Col. illus. incl. cover.
