Beschreibung
Christina Alberta's Father, H.G. Wells, Jonathan Cape Ltd, 1925, First Edition, Second Impression Set between the years of 1920 - 1922, this is the story of a father, Albert Edward Preemby and his daughter, Christine Alberta. Starting off as a seemingly light-hearted novel of social realism, highlighting the class system of contemporary society, the author soon lambasts the then-current state of mental health legislation and of asylums, before ending the novel with the characters discussing feminism and the conflict between individual independence and being a willing part of a greater society. This is a First Edition, Second Impression in very good condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards are clean and the gilt lettering on the spine is bright. There is minimal shelf wear to the top and bottom edge of the spine. The end papers and pages are clean without tears, marks or inscriptions. The clipped dustjacket, protected in a clear removable cover, is in very good condition, with minor loss to the top edge of the spine and some toning to the rear cover. Will be despatched wrapped in bubblewrap and in a cardboard box. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 01166
