This VG-, format #1 book is in very nice condition; it is square and very clean and lists only to itself. The exterior has no edge dings or corner bumps but does have mildly bumped head and heel of the spine, without fabric damage. The spine is mildly faded (see photo) but the front panel appliqué is completely intact and the gold lettering on both the spine and front panel is undamaged. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage; frontis + 5 is intact, and paper is quite flexible. The FFEP has been torn out and the paper covering the front hinge is torn, exposing 3-1/2" of the hinge; the paper is torn the entire length of the rear hinge; both hinges are noticeably weakened but holding.
