Tear to the right edge of the front cover, minor soiling otherwise a very nice copy of this RARE ( no OCLC copies) publication put out by elementary school students in San Francisco just before the 1906 Earthquake and fire destroyed their school. Pictured are two Japanese American students in Clement Football Team photo, Teru and Zenzo. At this point there were 93 Japanese students attending 23 schools across the city, and they were there only because the small number did not justify building a separate facility as had been the case for Chinese students. But after the Earthquake reduced the number of Chinese students by half the authorities decided to build a new school and segregate all the Asian students, leading to lawsuits and the direct intervention of Teddy Roosevelt.
