Spins tips a trifle softened otherwise VG indeed. In the RARE D/W priced $2 to the inside flap (as called for). The D/W is about VG (for its age). A former owner has "ticked" the $2 price. There is a long, 4.5 cm closed tear and associated crease at the bottom left hand corner of the front panel with several, shorter (approx 1 cm) tears (with associated creases) to the top edge of the front panel. The spine ends are creased and worn and there is a small triangular chip at the bottom right hand corner of the spine (not affecting any lettering). The back panel has a couple of faint ring marks. "Mr. Burton is a pillar of orthodoxy. He gives us the crime, the whole crime, and nothing but the crime. Of those writers following in the austere path of Freeman Wills Crofts he is among the best."
