I am pleased to offer a nice copy of: The Coming Victory of Democracy by Thomas Mann. This book is the text of the lecture which in slightly abbreviated form was delivered by Thomas Mann on his coast-to-coast lecture tour February to May 1938. This small hard cover book (5 ½ x 8 ¼ inches 70 pages-the last two being a list of the American Editions of the works of Thomas Mann) was published by Alfred A. Knopf as a Borzoi Book dated 1938 and the First Edition (so stated). It was translated from the German by Agnes E. Meyer. The book is bound in matte black boards with gilt titles on the spine and protected by a printed paper dust jacket itself encased in a mylar book jacket cover. I offer this book in all humility to all Americans as a good opportunity to refresh some understanding and appreciation of democracy. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket, however, has suffered some damage including a large piece torn off the top of the front cover. This damage has presumably been arrested by the mylar sheath now protecting the book. The hard covers are clean and bright and the gilt titles too with just some faint signs of bumping to the lower corners. Inside a former owner has left his distinctive bookplate on the front endpaper but this is the only mark I found in the book. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound.
