Written by Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American essayist, lecturer, philosopher, abolitionist, and poet who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-nineteenth century. With publisher's advertisements to the rear, dated 1860. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with marks to the boards. Splits in the cloth to the extremities resulting in light fraying and light loss to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
