Original DJ with $12.95 price intact on DJ flap and no Pulitzer sticker on front; or any mention of the Pulitzer anywhere on DJ. Walker Percy blurb on rear; however this is the second state DJ with the Chicago Sun Times blurb in the black area, at the top of DJ rear. Despite this, the DJ remains desirable thanks to no Pulitzer mention, hence an early printing. Binding and hinges are strong. Panels, endpapers and pages are all bright and clean; no writing within. Book's only flaw is a minor one; three consecutive pages' cornertips were dogeared, and since flattened-out. In regards to the DJ, Shallow shelf-rub induced chips at crown, and corner folds. Small closed edge tear along rear top edge. A touch of soiling to DJ front, and rear flap. Considering the first printing of this Pulitzer winner was a minuscule 2,500 copies, these early printings remain sought after. Sadly, the author committed suicide, and had no idea his manuscript would ever be published, let alone go on to win the Pulitzer Prize for fiction. VG+/VG. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 003667
