This book has the odd distinction of having been inscribed by Lawrence Thompson Bowles, the step-father of actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, to 'his long esteemed and cherished friend, William Louis-Dreyfus" --a.k.a. the actor's biological father, dated several years before her birth. One can only surmise that the friendship became markedly less cherished later in life. The book itself is a second printing of British solicitor and historian Reginald L. Hine's "Confessions of an Un-Common Attorney." The text and images within the book are unmarked; pages are bright, though the page edges are age toned. Binding is sturdy. The cloth of the covers is starting to fray a bit around the corners and at the head and base of the spine. The dust jacket is chipped and creased, with small puncture in the paper at the spine.
