First Printing. The book is bound in apricot color cloth with title stamped in gilt on the front cover. Corners are sharp There is foxing on the top and bottom edges of teh cover. A previous owner has left newspaper clipping and a magazine article clipped on the ffe. This has left a rust shadow on that page. The articles were about Constable and the controversy over paintings by the artist's son Lionel. Otherwise, pages are clean, smooth and unmarked. The binding is firm. Friends of the Curtis Memorial Library, based in Brunswick, Maine is a non-profit corporation that exists solely to assist the Curtis Memorial Library in its many activities, principally through fundraising by the sale of used books. Operating through a retail outlet located at 200 Maine St. in Brunswick and through its on-line sales activities, Curtis Friends operates only with volunteers from the local community and sells only those books donated by its constituents.
