First edition. Square 24mo. [8]pp. Illustrated throughout in color chromolithographs depicting rural scenes. Embossed, chromolithographed wrappers depicting a rural mountain scene, printed on heavy stock paper, with die-cut scalloped edges, and raised lettering in gilt on front cover, sewn with braided silk cord as issued. The text is printed in gold with illustrations in color. Rear cover states: "Designed in England" and "Printed in Bavaria". Covers have light wear at extremities, with very small nicked abrasion at lower corner of front cover at tip of corner only, else a near fine, bright copy. Unrecorded by *OCLC* which does note at least six other titles by this author, which were similarly printed in design and content in the late nineteenth century.
