Illustrated with 80 engraved plates, 71 of which are hand colored, and with 27 large, illustrated, hand-colored chapter initials. Bound in half-leather with crimson morocco over marbled boards; spine has gilt letters and decorations between raised bands. A G+/VG set with rubbing to marbled paper on boards, edgewear to marbled paper on boards, and occasional foxing that is more severe on title page and several following leaves. Volume I is missing a tissue cover for one of its plates. Volume II has slightly bumped top corners, a missing tissue cover for one of its plates, tiny nicks in the bottom edge of several leaves, and half-inch tears to bottom edges of two leaves.
