CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The 57th New York Infantry was organized at New York City, in August 1861, mustered in for three years service on November 19, 1861, under the command of Colonel Samuel K. Zook and came to be known as Zook's Voltigeurs. They saw significant action while serving with the Army of the Potomac. The veterans were reorganized into the 61st NY in December 1864. This fine narrative is quite scarce and seldom offered for sale. RareBook Hub notes 2 sales, 1991 and 1954. LiveAuctioneers has no record of its sale. Here in near fine condition.
