First printing of this large book of paper dolls and their activities that takes layout cues from Charles Dana Gibson remarkably fully intact. Published during the early 20th century boom in paper doll production, THE DOLLS THAT YOU LOVE is a book that demands attention. This large-format work contains so much more than paper dolls and clothing to cut out: there are poems about each doll and their personality, stories about their activities, and even Gibson Girl-esque bust portraits of five children and their nurse. This is a rare survivor, completely intact. 12.25'' x 18''. Original cloth-backed color pictorial boards. Illustrated in color. [40] pages with six paper dolls on thicker paper. Binding with light edgewear and rubbing, a bit of foxing. Leaves with occasional faint foxing, one leaf with small tear to corner not affecting the art; front hinge with careful glue repair.
