Charles Scribner's Sons. New York. 1929. 489 pages. First American Edition; 1st printing with 1925 on the title page with matching date and scribners seal / colophon on verso of title page. No other dates listed. Binding and hinges are strong. Book is tight, crisp and clean; pages lay tight and undisturbed; seemingly unread. Green cloth is bright and unmarred; gilt titles are bright. Darkened topstain with a tiny discoloration near binding. First printing of this title was printed in March 1925. The DJ that is married to this 1st printing is from the 12th printing from September 1929. It is the same DJ/design as the 1st printing DJ, just that 12th printing is notated in small font on the DJ spine. $2.50 price intact on DJ flap. Uncommon DJ shows light shelf-rubbing at edges.
