Dante's Inferno, with translations, broadcast in the BBC third programme, published by The BBC, 1966, first edition. Hard cover with orange and black illustrated dustwrapper with white titles.Not price clipped. The illustration on the front cover is from an editionof the Divine comedy printed in Brescia in 1487. This edition of Dante's Inferno was broadcast over a 12 week period in 1963, each group of Cantos translated by a different poet, each of whom was expressly commissioned. the poets are Ronald Bottrall, Robert Gittings, John Heath-Stubbs, Hugh Gordon Porteus, Vernon Watkins, GS Fraser, Partic Dickinson, Elizabeth Jennings,Margaret Bottrall, GW Ireland, Denis Goacher and Terence Tiller. The flap and back of the cover include a short biog of each of these. The orange cloth binding with red and gold titles to spine is in very good condition with a little bumping to edges and top and bottom of spine and slight fading to the bottom edge. There is a name in ink on the front free endpaper, minimal signs of foxing to page outer edges, though overall very good.
