A UK first edition, first impression. Undated, but 1945 ( Hubin ). THE WRAPPER : The wrapper on this copy is solid and complete. It is unclipped. The front panel is bright and clean, showing rubbing and bruising to the top and bottom edges and slight nicking to each of the corners. The spine is clean. It is chipped at either end. The white back panel is sound, showing gentle overall soiling. The top and bottom edges are worn ( bruising, tiny nicks, small closed tears ). Looks tidy now that it as been covered in protective ( removable ) plastic. THE BOOK : The book is square and very tight. The boards are bright and clean. The lower corners and the spine ends are very slightly bruised. The pages are clean. The closed page edges are dusty and lightly flecked. No dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges.
