1st edition. First novel in a supernatural trilogy., much influenced by the author's friend and mentor C.S.Lewis (The Pilgrim's Regress; The Great Divorce). The main character has a dream in which he dies and goes to heaven (or perhaps purgatory) and has to decide whether to teach at the Gnostics' College or take a writing job in the Backwards Believers' Department. Pp.162, signed by the author to title page, dedicatee's name additionaly handwritten to dedication page, owner's details to front free endpaper.
