Diving bells designed by John Taisnier, Klingert, Trewald, Spalding, Smeaton, Brunel and Halley are discussed at length, with the Klingert, Halley, and Spalding illustrated as noted above. Bound in half-calf over marbled paper boards. Gilt-lettered, red morocco spine label. Blind-tooled at the spine and the edges of the calf. Some rubbing and scuffing at the edge tips. Tightly and solidly bound. Bright and clean inside. Very good condition.
