Small triangle piece of bottom left corner of the back cover is broken off, slightly frayed bottom and left edge of back cover with several very minor tears, damaged bottom of the spine, couple of small light brown stains to the right edge of front cover; internally fine condition. The Central Union of Estonian Visual Artists (CUEVA) was founded in March 1922 in Tallinn, as the central organization joining together Estonian professional artists. In 1927 CUEVA published five-year anniversary album. Scarce and valuable edition contains 11 articles on modern art written by prominent Estonian artists. Book begins and finishes with the articles by editor Märt Laarman in which he shares own thoughts about modern art. Edition also includes August Jansen item about CUEVA birth, Märt Pukits feature devoted to Konrad Mägi and August Jansen's devoted to Eduard Verber, Hanno Kompus essay about visual arts collecting. Here is published questionary "Does Estonian Art is suffering crisis?", this question was asked to people of art - Roman Espenberg, Johannes Barbarus, August Jansen, Hanno Kompus and others. In fact, few answers pointed to a crisis, most of the opinions talked about prosperity and progressive development. One of the main advantages of the current album is a huge amount of illustrations. Besides photographic images depicting famous Masters of Art and 11 vignettes by Arnold Akberg, Märt Laarman and Jaan Vahtra, also included 93 terrific artwork reproductions of outstanding Estonin modernist artists - Eduard Wiiralt, Kuno Veeber, Jaan Vahtra, Ado Vabbe, Nikolai Triik, Anton Starkopf, Roman Nyman, Konrad Mägi, Ants Laipman, Otto Kruste, Peet Aren and many others.
