First impression of the true first edition. Published during the early years of the First World War. Interestingly, there are two Erratum slips present, one bound in at the Contents page, and another at p.201. ***Very good in dark blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles and borders to the spine and decorative blind borders to the front and rear boards. The gilt is still quite bright, protected by the dustwrapper. The boards are clean and unmarked. The head and tail of the spine are slightly frayed. Corners fairly sharp, with just slight bumps to the bottom corners. Offsetting to front and rear free endpapers and pastedowns. Hardly any foxing. Interior pages clean. No inscriptions. Spine tight. ***In the original dustwrapper which is largely complete except for chips to the top and tail of the spine. The spine of the dustwrapper is slightly browned.
