Corners and spine caps lightly worn. Bookplate "Donneysville & Edmunds Library Association" on the front paste-down is the only indication that the book circulated. Light foxing on the endpapers. Edges are dust-dulled. Previous owner small label has been partly torn away taking a small amoutn of paper with it. The bottom corners of the first two pages after the ffe have been dog-eared. Otherwise, the book is clean with lightly age-toned, smooth and unmarked pages. Frontis portrait-"The War VIce-President Hannibal Hamlin of Maine has small dot of foxing ion the margin. Includes 20 lithographs by Frank K. Smith of Bangor-16 portraits of soldiers and two of camps in black and white.
