Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. TWA AVIATION HISTORY AN EDUCATIONAL GUIDE IN AIR TRANSPORTATION HINKEL & BARON 1944 1ST EDITION. This book was intended to inform and promote the development of commercial aviation after World War II by laying out a basic guide to preparing the personnel that would be needed. I am very pleased to offer a scarce hard cover book titled: An Educational Guide in Air Transportation prepared by Ralph E. Hinkel and Leo Baron. This medium-sized hard cover book (6 ¼ x 9 ¼ inches 140 pages) was published by Transcontinental & Western Air Inc of Kansas City Missouri dated 1944- a First Edition with the same date on title & copyright pages. The book is bound in deep royal blue with silver gilt titles and decorations on the cover and spine. This book is scarce I believe because the book trade has not recognized how forward-thinking this book was at the dawn of commercial aviation in the U.S. and because it forms part of the rich history of TWA Airlines. Condition: This book in in very good condition. The hard covers show some dust-dulling along the margins of the front cover but nothing extreme. The corners and spine tips are barely bumped. Inside a former owner has left a small, penciled name on the front endpaper but this is the only mark I found in the book. The interior pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 1060
