A tight, very respectable copy of the 1955 1st French edition, issued at the same time as the American edition and, unlike the American edition, never issued in a dustjacket or with the caption booklet. Clean and VG+ in its dramatic, Miro-illustrated boards, with a very small amount of light loss at the spine crown and just a touch of mild bumping to the foot of the spine. The faintest trace of light scuffing at the boards, a bit of light creasing at the top-edges. Internally, clean as could be, with no writing or markings of any kind. Cartier-Bresson's timeless gravure photos all in pristine condition. Folio, slight, subtle bowing to the front board (not uncommon for this title) but still very appealing and presentable.
