A good reading copy for the thrifty scholar. *** Features Post-Impressionist works from the early 1900s and Expressionist paintings (beginning around 1908 to World War One) by Feininger, before his crystalline Bauhaus style developed. When Feininger left Germany in the mid-thirties, these paintings were left behind and became inaccessible after the war, held in East Germany. Richly illustrated with colour plates. Size: 4to.
