First thus - appears to be the first UK edition of this bible of card-tricks and conjuring, first published in the USA in 1940. Prelims include foreword to the third American edition (1950). Original red cloth, pp.xxiv, 474, illustrated with line drawings throughout. Bumped at the spine tips and corners, old, faded water stain to the top edge and along the gutters at the half-title and title pages - text not affected, in fact the book is otherwise very clean internally, no owner names etc. Good condition overall, the dustjacket is shelf-worn with splits at the corners and spine tips.
