Presentation "To Maude Lloyd profound homage [with a .]; Nov 1 '35, Rayner Heppenstall". His second book. Two tiny brown spots on the upper cover and front end paper. A bit of browning around the hinges, otherwise very good indeed. Dj is lightly dusty and sunned, particularly on the spine, with a touch of wear to the extremities. Acquired from Maud Lloyd, an admired leading dancer with Ballet Rambert in the 1930s. Later she wrote, with her husband, Nigel Gosling, influential dance books and reviews under the pseudonym, 'Alexander Bland'. When Rudolph Nureyev defected in 1961, they became his surrogate parents.
