The very scarce first edition.In the publisher's original cloth binding.Illustrated with a frontispiece, nine more monochrome plates, and a folding map to the rear. Collated, complete.Edward Frederick Knight details his voyage to Copenhagen on his small yacht, the "Falcon". With vivid descriptions of his various port stops and short stays in Amsterdam, and the wonderous fjords of Norway.With the bookplate of the Society of Writers to His Majesty's Signet to the front pastedown. A private society of Scottish solicitors, this group dates back to 1594, where they originally had privileges in relation to the drawing up of documents required to be signeted. In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart. With rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the front board illustration and marks to the boards. Bookplate of the Society of Writers to His Majesty's Signet to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound, with one plate ('Veile') disbound but present.
