Complete in two volumes. Japan and China Paper Edition, Before Letter. 119pp; [120]-240pp. Brown half morocco over silk covered boards, spines with five raised bands, gilt decorations and lettering. Marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, others uncut. Text by Fred H. Allen. With ninety photogravures by the Lakeside Press from paintings by Gustave Dor�, Cesare Detti, F. Andreotti, Henri Regnault, Jules Garnier, Gabriel Max, Alma-Tadema, Alexander Wagner, Mariano Fortuny, Raimond de Madrazo, Jacques Clement Wagrez, Heinrich Hoffman, and others. Long crease to flyleaves in both volumes. An occasional small stain to the edge of some the leaves but otherwise internally fairly clean.
