It is also the earliest of a set of satirical pieces in prose and verse developed by Spark using lines and phrases from Baudelaire's 'La Fanfarlo'. To this work, Spark uses the opening sentence of Baudelaire's work as the 'topic' of her poem. Muriel Spark was a Scottish novelist, short story writer, poet and essayist. In original wrappers with title printed in red. Preserved in a glassine wrap. Externally, excellent with just a few light spots to the front and rear wrap.
