Dust jacket has minor wear to the tips and spine ends, and has a short tear at bottom of front spine fold and associated creasing. This copy is the first state book and the second state dust jacket. Frontispiece illustration by Frank Newfeld is duplicated on the upper board. The dust jacket, unlike the first state which simply has the Newfeld illustration repeated, is a full colour illustration by William Wheeler, that shows men with heavy packs traversing a steep mountain pass. 127 pages.
