Three volumes of this scarce poetry collection by John B Meredith. In the original red cloth bindings. The poems are illustrated, with charming vignettes. With a frontispiece of John B Meredith to the third volume. These three volume comprise of volumes II (1904), III (1906) and IV (1908) of the collection. To the second volume, Meredith notes to the preface that since issuing the first volume of poems 'other topics have suggested themselves to my mind, some of them occurring to me at places which I have visited, accounts of which are given expression to in this second volume of 'Fragments''. To the third volume Meredith says that this will be his final volumes as he had thought of even more subjects to write on. He states the same to the preface of the fourth volume. A charming poetry collection written by this Victorian author. Each poem has the original dates they were written. Several of the poems have been written on places John B Meredith had visited, such as The Tropic Zone, The Aurora Borealis and Athens. There are also poems on general life experiences, people Meredith has met household items, and more. In full cloth bindings. Externally, very smart with just some light shelfwear to the extremities and to the head and tail of spines. A few light marks to the spines and boards. Minor offsetting to the endpapers.
