A late "minor" work by America's first Nobel Laueate (1930) which has relevance today. This is a Near Fine copy of the First Edition (stated First printing). Tan (oatmeal) linen binding with titling on the spine in red and gilt; gilt "SL" on front cover. Clean text; 438 pages. Hints of bumping, and with two small areas of tape residue on the FFEP; else a Fine copy. The dustjacket is complete and unclipped but shows quite a bit of edgewear, with creasing and several small chips. In an archival plastic protector. Size: Atlas Folio - over 23" - 25" tall.
