Photographs are insitu for all book listings. This is 'A Grammar of the Hindustani Language'by Duncan Forbes and published by Wm. H. Allen & Co in 1862 and appears to be a first edition. This Hindustani book is 'in Oriental and Roman characters, with numerous copper plate illustrations of the Persian and Devanagari systems of alphabetic writing: to which is added, a copious selection of easy extracts for reading, in Persi-Arabic and Devanagari characters, together with a vocabulary of all the words'. The book has a hard cover in a brown shade - with titling to the spine. The cover shows bumping to edges and corners with significant fading to the spine - the cover shows handling and usage marks and staining. The interior pages show displays the owners name in two places, yellowing and some age spots to hand cut pages. Pages 167 plua text pages, Dimensions 22.5cm x 15cm x 2.5cm.
