The boards have a little fading to the top and bottom of the spine where the jacket is chipped and along the top edges with slight edge wear to boards. Pages not browned. There are some annotations in pencil covering about three-quarters of the area of the rear endpapers with these presumably by the previous owner of the book who has written his name, College and date in blue ink on the front pastedown. The annotations could probably be erased but I have left them as they are. The pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. The jacket has chipping at the top and bottom of the spine which has some surface rubbing and quite heavy edge rubbing with a closed tear running along about half the length of the edge of the rear panel. There is light chipping to the corners with a half-inch closed tear to the top right hand corner of the front panel. The front panel also has a small chip in the centre of the top edge with some associated creasing and there is a little discolouration to the front and rear panels. First printing.
