Two volumes in seven. 8vo (30cm); (648) + (664) pp; 79 steel engraved plates in total (seemingly complete), six engraved portraits, two engraved titlepages and two maps, one of which is a double-page. The titlepages, lists of illustrations and indexes for both vols are supplied at the back of v7; original pale red cloth with gilt portrait of Sir Henry Havelock stamped on the front of each volume surrounded by a floral wreath with lettering and decorated in blind; vols in mixed condition, varying from VG to fair. All have chipped spines, one of two vols with plates working loose; occ spotting and frayed fore-edges to some plates.
