Chester Kindig Lehman (1895 - 1980) was the first dean of Eastern Mennonite College and Seminary, 1923-1956. He was also head of the Bible Department and Professor of Theology. He was educated in Franklin and Marshall College (A.M., 1921); Princeton Theological Seminary (Th.B., 1921); Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, VA (Th.M., 1935 and Th.D., 1940). Lehman also held several pastorates in the Mennonite Church and wrote several books on biblical and theological subjects. The volume offered here is a scholarly presentation of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit and holiness of life as understood and taught in the Mennonite tradition.
