Reprint from 1949 of a book first published by The Bodley Head in 1945 and reprinted in 1946. The boards have some very slight surface marking only. The page edges are browned with some scattered spotting and a little brown marking to the bottom edges. Previous owner's name written neatly at the top left corner of the front free endpaper. The endpapers have some light spotting and there is one small stain affecting the pages through to the title page. The pages are a little browned with a crease to the top corner of one page but are generally otherwise unmarked. The price-clipped jacket has a three inch closed tear running up from the bottom of the spine next to the front panel and across the spine. There is also a one inch tear at the base of the spine next to the rear panel and some chipping with loss at the top and bottom of the spine and rubbing along the edges of the spine. The rear panel is quite heavily browned with a few light stains and the jacket has small chips at the corners. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 020732
