Beschreibung

Lovely red and cream calf bound 1954 reproduction in fac-simile of the original fourteenth century edition with an introduction and commentary by WO Hassall. Tiltle in gold on spine and imprinted images on front and back, issued without a dust jacket, page edges deliberately roughly finished. Binding very good with a tiny knock to bottom of spine and top corner, discolouration on back. Pages bright and clean with only slight discolouration to edges on front free end paper and title page. This includes many first editions signed and given to him by the authors as well as working copies of the many plays he performed in. There is a nice collection of books relating to his role as Sir Thomas More in the 1966 play 'A Man for all Seasons' We've tried to give as much detail as possible on the condition of our books but are more than happy to send more photos if required.
