Scott also details advice for keeping families in health, with notes on diets and sea-bathing, which was largely popular in Georgian England.An interesting exploration of housekeeping in the 1820s, with an insight into scientific understanding of the day.Bookplate of Edward George Kent to the front paste down. In a full diced calf binding. Externally, with small cracks to the head and tail of the front joint. Rear joint is starting with a little loss of leather. A little wear to the head and tail of the spine, heavier to the head. Minor bumping to the extremities. Light marks to the boards, with a small damp stain to the head of the rear board. Front hinge is starting but firm, rear hinge is a little strained but firm. Bookplate to the front paste down. Ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Tide mark to the head of the paste downs, front and front free endpaper, and rear and rear free endpaper, and lightly to the title page. Internally, firmly bound.
