How nice it must be to "come back" from a long period of important study with a book in tow. This Special Edition was limited to 250 copies, was bound in an octavo format, light bluish gray linen over boards, gilt titles to spine. Very fine hand-made paper (Fabriano) and set in Romanee and Lutitia type. Some of the poems appeared first in two poetry magazines, and the translator's work was derived from studies of Volume II and III of Poesia Nahuatl and other Central American poetry collections. The translator's Foreword provides a fascinating back-story to the work of collection and translation. 40 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 357837

Edition limited to 250 copies, 8vo, pp. 40; original green cloth stamped in gilt on spine; fine copy. From the library of Kim Merker. Based on the Spanish versions of Angel María Garibay Kintana's Poesía náhuatl, volumes II and III (Mexico City, 1965-68), and Miguel León Portilla's Trece poetas del mundo azteca (Mexico City, 1967). Berger, Printing and the Mind of Merker, 38: "Peter is one of the best poets in the country. I don't think he ever really thought of himself as a professional poet, though he won the Lamont Prize for his first book of poems and he has been highly praised for the small number of things he has done. Anyway, he went to Central America for a winter and studied Aztec poetry, and came back with this manuscript.". Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 65300
