Book and jacket are VG-, not VG. Exterior of the book is solid: clean, minimal damage (light bumping to head and heel of spine without fabric damage), but cover has a 1/4" to 1/2" band of fading along all the outside edges (see photos); and there are several small dots on the fore edge, but they penetrate only 1/4" into pages. Interior is clean, unmarked and unstained (there are a few small fingerprint-type smudges); hinges are firm and pages are quite flexible. The jacket has wear and a 1-3/4" closed tear along the front fold with a slight amount of loss of color (see photo), with small chips at the heel of the spine and a 1-1/2" closed tear with minor chipping at the head of the spine and a penciled "X" on the spine (see photos).
