264 pages. Illustrated with two frontis'. The book's owner, Prof.Stephen N. Hay, was a noted professor of South East Asian history at U.C. Santa Barbara, with deep interests in Eastern religion and philosophy. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard and had early stints teaching at Harvard and at the University of Chicago, and this copy has his ink stamp from the Department of History, University of Chicago. There is a long inscription in (presumably) Chinese on the front free end page, which is possibly a presentation from the author (?).
