Charming 1880s autograph book, with illustrations in the style of Kate Greenaway. The immensely popular works of Kate Greenaway, one of the trailblazers of the Golden Age of Illustration, inspired many imitations on both sides of the Atlantic. The various autographs and drawings, done in ink and pencil, date from 1883 to 1900, and are chiefly from the town of Waltham, Massachusetts, just outside Boston. 4'' x 6.75''. Original brown publisher's cloth binding with color pictorial stamps. All edges silvered. White watered silk endpapers. Color pictorial title page with seven full-page color plates. [106] pages. Many autograph leaves filled in with ink or pencil. Mild scuffing to front board, spine ends lightly bumped. Mild soiling to endpapers, with tiny chips to margins; rear flyleaf lacking.
