Grey cloth with gilt Title. Copyright page shows 1917 with F-R mark, a scarce true first of the Nobel Prize winner's potboiler. The titles on cover and spine are faded, and there is shelf, edgewear and bumping to corners. There are breaks at pages 139 and 187, where the signatures (the bound sheets that make up a book) come together. This does not impact the integrity of the spine, however, which is straight and tight. There are no markings in this volume, no foxing and very little tanning. The pages are clean. The final page has a tear, but remains part of the book. There is a small, 1" blue sticker from a New York bookseller on the rear endpaper. A very good copy. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 000006
