One of Shaw's more delightful, if typically didactic, screeds on one of his favorite subjects.This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First American Edition (stated First Printing). Light green decorative cloth binding in a Celtic knot design, highlighted with gilt. Clean text; 495 pages; indexed. Bumped corners; hinge weak at half-title; otherwise a very nice copy, very bright and fresh. The dustjacket is clipped and shows edgewear, with chipping along the margins. The spine is slightly darkened, and has a stain along the rear edge. One flap is almost severed; now secured by an archival plastic protector. A very presentable copy, with the scarce dustjacket, but not for the advanced collector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 004324
