RARE gilded & embossed illustrated hardcover book, sorry no dust-jacket. "Intermediate Hydrostatics" By William Briggs and G. H. Bryan. From The University Tutorial Series. This is the Fisrt Edition, published by W. B. Clive, University Tutorial Press Ltd., 1907. 12mo, 18 cm x 13.3 cm x 2.1 cm, Brown cloth-covered boards, Gilt embossed lettering on spine, Clear embossed title on front cover, Clear embossed framing on front & back cover, Black end papers. 264 pages. Weight: 356 Grams. CONTENTS ARE MOSTLY IN EXCELLENT CONDITION!!! However, there are pencil annotations & markings throughout the book, mostly in margins, sometimes over paragraph number (See additional pictures). Book leans a little. Spine is darkened but sturdy, scuffed alongside covers both sides, bumped & frayed either end, gilt slightly dull & rubbed away in places, binding tight! Cover is mostly clean, edges darkened & scuffed. Bottom corners are bumped, all are a little frayed. Top edge darkened. End papers slightly faded. Number in pencil on 1st end paper. Ink annotation (name & date) on title page. Also included and inserted between pages are an original loose receipt from W & G. Foyle Ltd. bookshop in London, and a Tramway ticket, those have left an age tanned "shadow" on reverse on title page and Preface page, and pages 114 & 115 respectively. Page 17/18 has a small tear on vertical edge. Pages 20 & 41 have a small stain in margin. Two handwritten pieces of paper have been stuck between pages 62 & 63 and pages 80 & 81 by previous owner. Light age tanning & occasional foxing throughout, more pronounced on reverse of free end papers, first and last pages, and outer edges. RARE FIRST EDITION!!!
